Accountability & Advisory Board
Truth for Today and its principal Bible teacher, Sam Gordon, are totally committed to integrity, transparency and openness in every facet of the work. Each member of the Board can ask any question, at any time, about any aspect of the ministry. Our policy, therefore, is to adopt an open book approach in all that we seek to do.
To that end, Truth for Today is delighted that the following have agreed to serve in this way:
- Mr Wallace Lawson BD - prior to early retirement, he was a deputy principal in the Northern Ireland Civil Service
- Mrs Ruth Hyde OBE - a lawyer by profession and currently chief executive of Broxtowe Borough Council (Notts.)
- Rev Dr Abi Ngunga - originally from the DR Congo, he is senior pastor of St Andrews Baptist Church
- Rev John Macleod BD - from the Outer Hebrides, he is pastor/teacher of Allander Evangelical Church, Milngavie, near Glasgow
- Mrs Esther Burd - an agricultural accountant in Tiverton (Devon)
- Mr Peter Tan DM FRCS - originally from Malaysia, he is a consultant vascular surgeon in Doncaster Royal Infirmary
Sam Gordon has an international Bible teaching ministry and over the years has travelled extensively around Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas.
Originally from Bangor in Northern Ireland, Sam and his wife Lois make their home in Bawtry, a rural community in the heart of England. Their only son Timothy was killed when he was almost fifteen years of age – that grippingly honest story, with colour photographs, is told in the best-selling book, It’s Still Hurting, Lord!
After twenty years in pastoral ministry, Sam spent almost eleven years as an on-air Bible teacher with Trans World Radio before moving on to a new role as executive director of Messianic Testimony, whose special focus is sharing Jesus with Jewish people. After eight plus years with MT he was led of the Lord in June 2016 to launch Truth for Today.
A prolific writer with 22 publications to his credit, Sam is widely recognised as an able and enthusiastic communicator of biblical truth.
